The special place in mechanical engineering of the Volga region belongs to the transport Volga region — automobile shop of the country. This is the largest producer automobile and trucks (Naberezhnye Chelny, Ulyanovsk, Tolyatti, Nizhny Novgorod Novgoro.
Volga — typically flat river. From a source to the mouth she goes down on only 256 meters. It is very small bias in comparison with other greatest rivers of the world that gives very big conveniences to navigation.
Volga is interesting to us and as the tourist route for water travel abounding with unique historical monuments. These are world famous the Kremlin in Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Astrakhan, memorials in Ulyanovsk and in Volgograd, the unique reserve in Astrakhan.
Creation of the cascade of hydroelectric power station improved navigable conditions: the deep-water way with the uniform guaranteed depths (3,65 m) throughout 3000 km on Volga and 1200 km on Kama that reduced cost of transportations across the Volga basin by 2-3 times in comparison with other internal waterways and by 2-3 times in comparison with the adjacent railroads was formed.
From other means of transport aircraft construction (Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk), shipbuilding (Rybinsk, Volgograd, Astrakhan) — sea and river crafts, including on the airbag (Sormovo, N. Novgoro is developed.
For restoration of fish stocks fish-breeding plants are constructed. They let out to the river of young sturgeons, belugas, starred sturgeons. By planes to the Caspian Sea the Black Sea mullet was thrown. (For food to fishes the Annelida, especially for a sturgeon and a beluga was transported).
Here the equipment for cement, ore mining, chemical industry is issued. Plants are constructed nitrogen- and synthetic rubber. Tolyatti — one of the largest elevators, the high-mechanized river port which is connected by high-speed lines with other cities. Today Tolyatti — is the largest industrial center of Central Volga area.
But in transformation of Volga the negative moments took place also. For receiving a large number of the electric power went for flooding of lands on big squares. Under water there were two million hectares of lands, one thousand villages and even some cities. After construction of dams of hydroelectric power station fishery value of Volga due to water deterioration (industrial drains) and difficulties of the course to fishes on spawning decreased.
